DJ Shadow has revealed that he is “half-way done” recording the follow up to his 2006 album The Outsider.
Speaking exclusively on Zane Lowe’s website, the DJ revealed he saw this as a “slight return” to the feel of his early records.
“I do consider it a return to form,” he said, before hastening to add, “but I hope there is nothing on it that sounds like anything I’ve done before, it’s just an aesthetic that returns.”
Glastonbury festival has announced the bulk of its line-up for this year’s event.
The UK’s biggest music festival, which takes place on Worthy Farm between June 25 – 27, is set to be headlined by Stevie Wonder, Muse and U2.
Joining these big names are a huge variety of acts, most notably including Snoop Dogg, The Flaming Lips, MGMT and Mos Def.

Trash Talk have offered fans a free track from their forthcoming album, Eyes & Nines, which shall be released through Hassle on 17th May.

Double Dagger’s new CD/LP ‘Masks‘ was released on 22 March 2010 through legendary label Thrill Jockey and features limited edition packaging designed by Nolen Strals (vocals) and Bruce Willen’s (bass, vocals) own design studio, Post Typography. The LP and CD each come in three different covers, all with custom die-cut jackets printed as different mask drawings with “eyes” that change color depending on the orientation of the CD or LP sleeve.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor will reform this year to curate All Tomorrow Parties ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ bash.
The event takes place over the weekend of December 3rd, and will be the Post Rock group’s first show since going on hiatus in 2003. The band has also suggested there will be further British and European shows around the festival date.
Joining Godspeed over the course of the weekend will be Bardo Pond, Deerhoof, Mike Watt, Tim Hecker, and The Ex with many more names to be announced.
Blur will release a limited 7” single as part of this year’s Record Store Day, which takes place April 17th.
This will be the band’s first new material since 2003, having re-united for summer shows last year. Further details of the track, including its title, will be announced nearer the release.
Dinosaur Jr will return to play a full tour of the UK next month with Built to Spill in tow as their more than capable support. The band, often described as one of the world’s loudest, will play 10 dates in total starting in Oxford before finishing up at Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
