This is one of the best videos we’ve seen at Crossfire in ages.
Taking the track by Noisia & Mayhem featuring KRS-ONE, Alexander Lehmann, a fan of Noisia who has also worked on District 9, put this video together from scratch. It took around three years and you can see why!
The band released the news on their website this week saying that the band had done “everything we wanted to do, said everything we wanted to say”, adding that there wasn’t a “single cataclysmic fracture in the band”.
Today is the day to remember the great work of Ian Curtis, guitarist/vocalist of the classic band Joy Division who died 30 years ago today. In 1976, Curtis bumped into Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook whilst watching the Sex Pistols, the 3 started jamming with drummer Stephen Morris and formed one of the UK’s most memorable indie acts whose success rose to great heights instantly.
After signing to Tony Wilson’s Factory Records and releasing 3 albums they achieved cult status in the Manchester indie scene and far beyond until the day of May 18th 1980 when Curtis decided to commit suicide and was found hanging in the kitchen of his house in Macclesfield and would have been 53 years old today. Look out for the launch of a new box set of 7inch singles that will be released in his honour.
Fashawn recently put out a new video for his single Samsonite Man.
The track, which features rapper Blu and is produced by Exile, is taken from Fashawn’s album Boy Meets World which came out last year. It’s a summer banger, get the volume cranked.
