Crossfire Albums of 2010

albumsof2010

2010 proved to be a fascinating year for music. As online methods of distribution became more refined there were moments in which it wouldn’t be at all ridiculous to describe the art of making an ‘album’ as dead and buried underneath a plethora of free single track downloads, EPs and re-issues. On the contrary, it fueled the motivations of musicians worldwide to make greater, fully realised LPs that reinvigorated many to sit down and enjoy what magic can occur when a selection of songs need to be heard in order and at 33rpm.

Here are the top ten albums that came from all of our regular writers after countless revisions. Now go and enjoy great music over the Christmas break.

Liability High Wycombe winter edit

These days though the locals have a skate park to leave their mark at and you will always find the Liability boys in there capturing the daily sessions.

Here’s their latest winter edit.

New bowl in Clissold Park, Hackney for February

clissold park skatepark hackneyThe locals of Hackney and surrounding areas of London will will have a brand new skatepark on their doorsteps very soon. The park designed and built by Freestyle Skateparks is scheduled to be opened in Clissold Park, Hackney in February 2011 and looks like it’s going to be something quite special.

John Flood from Freestyle sent us these photos of the ongoing build this morning and said…”When you’re standing in the bowl it looks great. We used a different transition which, after looking at the first pour of concrete looks perfect! This bowl has big cupping transition for the hips, but tightening up at the top, the lines will work perfectly once it’s all completed.”

The park apparently be fitted with a table tennis table next to it – start dreaming of dry, warm weather and get hyped on London receiving another bowl finally.
