Owl Skateboards have rolled out a new VX video filmed between Bristol and Brighton across the shit show that has been 2016 so far, featuring 3 full parts and an assortment of other footage from the two city’s scenes.
Those decks above have been re-issued this week and ready for you to grab before they are all gone, get them fast like, here. You can also own a memory stick with the new footage on from here.
It was always a pleasure to share a session with Mike Manzoori back in the late 80’s and early 90s. His dedication to skateboarding has always been second to none as has his videography work in shooting others as you will see in this documentary from the Berrics.
If you want to see some really old footage with Mike in it, scroll down and watch Gorm’s video from our weekly New Malden sessions. I’m in there somewhere.
Women Against Trump. Three words that sadly the world is going to have to get used to now Donald owns the keys to the Whitehouse from this morning’s news. Spiralling hatred is now reaching typhoon scale and with that comes hate products. Say hello to Hateboards, a new run of decks with all your non-favourite characters on board, such as Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, Nigel Farage, Justin Bieber etc.
To celebrate this hatred, this Women Against Trump edit is “a direct straightforward protest against Trump’s appalling comments towards women and their objectification.”
One of our favourite parts of the year has been extended with a closer look into how Tiago Lemos managed top pull of such a rad edit stuffed full of technical wizardry. Get those teas on and take in the making of a master piece.
Here’s one way to make a statement against the establishment. Super Massive Black Hole (SMBH)is a new movement from Essex skaters in the UK who have found their voice against “one of the most aggressive attacks on youth culture in modern times.” Quoting “audacious increases in tuition fees, blanket bans on drugs and most importantly the serial closing of world music renowned venues,” does this frustration sound familiar to you too?
Sometimes the best way to react to issues is to fight them with creative ideas and come together with others, so the SMBH have taken their frustrations out on the streets and DIY spots to form this clip, fueled also by the ever growing hatred of sports brand infiltration in the skate scene:
“Some of the largest globalised companies are investing millions into moulding it [skateboarding] into a ‘sport’, skaters constantly striving for more perfect and technical tricks, epitomised most with the recent inclusion in the Olympics.”
HUF’s latest tour video with Thrasher has been unleashed today with a proper crew lurking large over European spots, including English ones.
Dan Plunkett, Austyn Gillette, Jake Anderson, Tyler Bledsoe, Brad Cromer, Matt Gottwig, Josh Matthews
Joey Pepper, Dick Rizzo, Sammy WInter, Steve Forstner and Simo Makela all involved.
