London’s skate scene are finally going to enjoy an indoor skatepark facility courtesy of Vans who have launched websites today for the official announcement of their new House of Vans set up in Waterloo.
We were invited to visit the site two weeks ago to meet the team who were laying fresh concrete in the street area and bowl designed by Marc Churchill. The bowl fills an entire tunnel and has many quirky obstacles and sits alongside another longer tunnel that boasts concrete street obstacles and a mini ramp.
The space itself is incredible. With 30,000 sq ft to play with over five tunnels, the House of Vans London will showcase an art gallery, a VansLab artist incubator space, cinema, live music venue, premium café and bars, gifting suite and skate park.
A facebook page and website launched today that you should follow. In the meantime arrange your diary as this venue will open in the Old Vic Tunnels, Station Approach Road, SE1 8S behind Waterloo station in London on August 9th.

Etnies have released their new Bloodline range this week for the Marana shoe and sent these over in a cooler box full of ice. I’ve had a pair of the red OG’s on for the last week and they are snug and feel solid compared to a lot of flimsy ‘skate shoes’ that are on the market right now, but I guess that’s Sheckler’s influence. He’s hardly going to be jumping big stuff in a pair of hipster shoes that are made for barfly’s is he?
