Fat Les Return?

After the news that Embrace had been selected to do the England World Cup song, Alex James of Blur must have heard the collective groans, as he has said that Fat Les are likely to bring out their own record for the World Cup this summer, with the possiblility of Ian McCulloch joining them.

Alex James recently said that he wasn’t going to do another football record, but after hearing Embrace had been given the task, and with Keith Allen calling, he couldn’t do any worse. With McCulloch having sung “come con, come on, you fucking England” to a Bryan Ferry tune live lately, it wouldn’t be a bad bet to stick some money on that being the unofficial but more loved track in Germany this year.

Gorillaz To Split?

Damon Albarn, the mastermind behind the musical cartoon wondergroup Gorillaz, has said that he thinks Demon Days is probably the last album the group will make, saying he’s taken the concept as far as it can go.

Albarn, who is just completing a 5 night residency at the Harlem Apollo in New York, left a question mark hanging however when he said that it was quite a hip hop thing to do, to retire and then return. So here’s hoping he’ll be hip hopping his way back with the animated group soon!

Meanwhile, great news for Albarn fans is that Alex James has said Blur have gotten back into the studio and are ready to start work on a new album, to follow up 2003’s brilliant Think Tank.

New Peaches Album

Always ready to shock, Peaches is set to release a new album to continue her love of the eye-opening. The album, which is called Impeach My Bush and is due out on the 10th of July, features Joan Jett and Josh Homme.

Some of the tracks have typically filthy titles, such as Tent In Your Pants, Fuck Or Kill and Two Guys [For Every Girl]. Can’t say fairer than that!
