Dead Prez Against Racism

American rap group Dead Prez are coming over to the UK to raise awareness against the BNP with The Bigger Than Hip Hop Tour. The tour will include UK artists such as the brilliant Rodney P, Skitz and Klashnekoff and has been organised in association with Love Music, Hate Racism.

If you can get out and see one of the shows on this tour, which begins on April 27th and finishes in London on May 4th, make sure you go and support a great cause with some wicked music.

Money from the event will go to charities, including one that works in Ghana. And remember, supporting this is also a kick in the teeth for the BNP, and there’s nothing sweeter than that.

Doherty Sentenced Today

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty is in court today after pleading guilty to possessing crack, cannabis and heroin. The sentence given to him was a community order with 2 years’ supervision, an 18th month rehabilitation programme and a six month driving ban, meaning he avoided jail time, which had been a possibility.

The singer was already on probation for drug offences and was accused of possessing drugs twice, once in December and once in January and he is set to have a separate hearing next month regarding a review of his community service, for another drugs offence.

When will he ever learn?
