Rasa Libre seem to be back on track after leaving their last distributor in 2006. Matt Field and Nate Jones have repositioned the company and launched with new boards and clothing keeping the stylish art element to the brand as it was before.
Legendary ska-punk act Fishbone will be releasing their new record in April.
Still Stuck In Your Throat will be their first album since 2000’s Fishbone and the Familyhood Nextperience Present: The Psychotic Friends Nuttwerx which featured Rick James, H.R. of Bad Brains, George Clinton and Gwen Stefani.

A film chronicling the 80s British 2 Tone movement is to be made.
Clubbed is set to star Maxine Peake, from Shameless, and will be directed by Neil Thompson. Shameless will also provide the executive producer of the film with its creator Paul Abbott filling the role.
It will be set in Coventry which was the home of the ska-influenced scene and saw the likes of The Specials, The Selecter and The Beat rise to fame. The release date is set as early 2008.
Madness will work with Sway to produce a reworking of the 1980 hit Baggy Trousers.
Sway confirmed in an interview that the new track will be called Baggy Jeans and admits to having been very cautious about reworking such a popular song, but was happy to work with Madness again after having featured on their new song Sorry alongside Baby Blue.
Sway’s next project will be with Akon and Pharrell but he insists he will still not sign any label deals, despite the endless offers.
Academy Award nominee and Emmy winning playright Aaron Sorkin has agreed to write a musical adaptation of The Flaming Lips’ album Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots.
Flaming Lips singer Wayne Coyne confirmed the story and compared the story to Terry Gilliam’s film Brazil. Coyne explained the plot of the album:
“There’s the real world and then there’s this fantastical world. This girl, the Yoshimi character, is dying of something. And these two guys are battling to come visit her in the hospital.
And as one of the boyfriends envisions trying to save the girl, he enters this other dimension where Yoshimi is this Japanese warrior and the pink robots are an incarnation of her disease. It’s almost like the disease has to win in order for her soul to survive. Or something like that.”
It is thought that the adaptation will not be complete for at least a year, possibly more, but it is something we can all look forward to.
MxPx have released a new video for the song Running Out Of Time which comes from their recent B-Sides album Let’s Rock.

The Chemical Brothers have announced details of their new album.
The new album will be called We Are The Night and will serve as the follow up to 2005’s Push The Button, with a June release date slated.
In support of the new album, the duo will play a single show at the Roundhouse in London. Tickets are available now for the show.
Two of Less Than Jake have recorded a video update with their upcoming plans.
The band will play a number of tours, which include previously announced full album shows, a trip to Japan and a tour with Reel Big Fish.
In addition the band will release a new record either this year or next and said they hope to get a better response than their last album In With The Out Crowd. They said:
“It’s a writing year for us. We’re also going to be writing and hopefully we’ll get a new record out to you in 2008 or even 2007. We’re going to try a new record that you’re going to like this time.”

The Hold Steady are planning to release a new acoustic EP on a limited disc.
Live At Fingerprints will feature 5 songs that were recorded at Fingerprints record shop in Long Beach, California last October during an in-store performance.
The release will only be available in indie record stores and a full release can be found on www.thinkindie.com with an April 17 date slated.
The band are currently finishing their US tour and will be over in the UK soon.
Harrow has been more famous for Death Skateboards than indie rock bands, but not any more as The Natives have come to remind the UK that London can still produce great bands and that the North is not the only provider thesedays.
The band are about to hit the limelight with their debut single ‘Bright Lights‘ released this week on Beyond Bedlam Productions. This single is more of a ballad than the rest of their attitude filled set which sees them take a distictive U2’esque sound showing Jim MacIntyre’s guitar skills with help from producer Jake Fior who also assisted Peter Doherty’s sound with his track For Lovers a while back. With the addition of Darren Gallagher ‘s voice and a thumping rhythmn section, this 7″ on ltd colour vinyl will be worth picking up for the future before people jump on this band and they blow up during the summer of this year.
I had the pleasure of seeing this band at Club NME in January in London and they held their own until the last tune with ease, maybe it’s the understanding of the 3 brothers that play in this band, this unit is tight. That night, the crowd were blown away so much so that The Natives have been booked to headline the same club later this month. Don’t miss them!
