Jay-Z tracklisting

The tracklisting for the new Jay-Z album has surfaced.

The album, which is a “concept album” called American Gangster will feature Beanie Sigel and, unfortunately, Lil Wayne. Maybe Jay just put them on his album to make himself look even better? Who knows, but luckily the last guest star saves his bacon as he will team up with Nas on the track Success.

1. Intro
2. Pray
3. American Dreamin
4. Hello Brooklyn 2.0 f. Lil Wayne
5. No Hook
6. Roc Boys (And The Winner Is…)
7. Sweet
8. I Know
9. Party Life
10. Ignorant Shit f. Beanie Sigel
11. Say Hello
12. Success f. Nas
13. Fallin
14. Blue Magic (Bonus Track)
15. American Gangster (Bonus Track)

Blondie biopic to start filming

A bipoic about Blondie is set to start filming.

The Michael Gondry directed film will see Kirsten Dunst take on the role of Deborah Harry and though some internet sites have criticised the choice, Harry has supported the casting saying:

“She’s probably capable of a lot of things she hasn’t been asked to do yet, and doing something that’s sort of left of center would be great for her.”

Metallica update

Metallica have posted on their official site with an update on their new album.

The band said that the big news is that there isn’t really any. They stated there was nothing new to report adding:

“Pretty much what we are trying to say is: work is continuing and all is good in the Metallica hood. As soon as we do have something new to report, you will be the first to know, of course! Ok, enough of this chit chat… back to work!”

Six Nation State injury!

Six Nation State‘s bassist John Maskell has been hopping after a freak accident at their album launch gig at the Borderline on Tuesday night.

After crowd surfing barefoot, Maskell landed back on the stage and stood on a broken wine glass, slicing a 7 inch cut into his foot severing 2 tendons. A nurse in the audience tended to the wound whilst Maskell finished the set, before he was rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery to repair the damage.

SNS will draft in a replacement for their Winchester and Swansea shows, but Maskell should be back on his feet within 10 days – and hopefully will wear shoes at the next gig…

The Hellacopters break up

Swedish group The Hellacopters have announced they are to split.

The band will play a final European tour after their next album, due in 2008, and said of the split:

“The reasons behind this very difficult decision are many and too personal to go into here. Playing in a rock and roll band isn’t always a walk in the park, but thanks to all of you who rocked out with us at sweaty clubs, rainy festivals or at home by the stereo throughout the years, it’s been a fantastic trip. We’ll never forget your support.”
