Michael Jackson dies at age 50
Breaking news: King of Pop Michael Jackson is reported to have died this afternoon in Los Angeles from a suspected heart attack at his home. Website TMZ broke the news after Jackson was rushed to a local medical centre and was pronounced DOA. The eccentric pop artist made music that connected with everyone and will be remembered as a legend. Check out Thriller here and moonwalk your way to the kitchen tonight in his honour.

Lovvers release new single and album
Lo-fi Wichita punksters Lovvers have announced details of a new single and new album.
Having recently toured the US with Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and played SXSW, they stopped off in the capital of indie cool, Portland, to record their debut long player ‘OCD Go Go Go Girls‘ and will release it on August 10th.
They’ll also be releasing a new single called ‘OCD Go Go Girls‘ (that’s one less ‘go’!), but in the mean time, here’s a sneaky peek of what to expect on the new record – a brand new track called ‘AXTXTXIXTXUXDXE‘:

Deftones re-record new album
Deftones have gone back to the studio re-record their new album Eros.
The album had been recorded before bass player Chi Cheng was involved in a car accident that left him in a coma. The band wrote on their MySpace blog that the recording “doesn’t best encompass and represent who we are currently as people and as musicians”. Former Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega has been playing with the band since Cheng’s accident.

DVS have dropped a video this week in loving memory of Danish skater Kristian Bomholt who unfortunately passed away in March this year. Kristian was a caring person and a rad skater and will be missed by many who knew him. It’s times like this when you realise that you should be thankful for what you have in life.
