That’s right. One of London’s smallest humans with one of the best style and trick bag ever to grace the metropolis has been granted a Vans flow position.
After attending pretty much every comp or event over the last year or so and turning countless heads, Powely and the boys over at Vans have promoted him from ‘Flow Bro’ to the ‘Flow Team’.

Now, for the fucks out there who does know this masterpiece where Corey Webster leaves his hometown in preparation for the ultimate downhill in Los Angelas, ‘The L.A. Massacre’, you might remember a lot of things like skate jousting, ramp burning, Bozo’s cabriolet, Venice Beach trickery etc, but the one thing I always remember is when the owner of Smash Skates tempts Corey with a sponsorship deal by bouncing a Kryptonite 78A wheel in front of him like a tennis ball and then saying ‘Son, in the event of a nuclear bomb, this will be the only thing that survives!’.
It gets me every time and in many ways, I feel that Spitfire is that wheel, they’ve been around forever and I know they’ll be around for as long as we need wheels to ride skateboards!”
It’s not the first time I’ve rolled up a set of Spitfires and it wont be the last either, I’ve always backed the best in skateboarding for my own reasons, they fucking rule and they are responsible for this industry constantly moving forward.
Like most skate products over the years, every now and then a company send some of their goods to a surgeon of sorts and they come up with new ways to better the current lines, in this case, spitfire separated park wheels from street wheels and the results are phenomenal. Basically, these wheels are 100D and really tough. They slide nicely on any surface but I wouldn’t recommend riding them a too smooth surfaces as they wont grip and you’ll be the one sliding! I thought they would flat spot easily, but to my surprise, they haven’t yet and I’m about a month in already! They are a bit loud, but amongst traffic you’re merely a spec in the noise that pollutes our cities.
If you hit the streets often enough and feel that softer wheels hold you back, I would highly recommend these, they’re sick and you can be too!

Skate…Crawl…Walk
Having been written by Eric Bress and directed by David R. Ellis, both of whom also worked on Final Destination 2, there is a sense of keeping it in the family with this new instalment. The Final Destination will hopefully be THE FINAL one in the franchise though as anymore would ruin the films good name. This one however, has been given a bit of a reinvention because of the incredible 3D effect.
As usual the film opens with a tragic scene, in this case a car crash at McKinley Speedway. Nick O’Bannon (Bobby Campo) experiences the tragedy in a premonition and is able to convince some of the individuals involved to leave the 180 section of the building before the crash actually takes place. The survivors begin to die violently in freak accidents, but as you may recall, “In death, there are no accidents”. What Nick comes to realise as the film concludes, is that things are not as clear-cut as they were in the previous situations (films). Like Alex, Kimberly and Wendy before him, Nick attempts to follow his premonitions to save others from death. As he drifts off at the end of this one, he realises his premonitions were red herrings from Death, manipulating the situations so that the remaining three individuals were exactly where he wanted them in his final plan.
There are a few common factors in this film in relation to the previous three films. There is the repetition of the name McKinley; there is the presence of 180 in the section they are sitting at in the stadium and also the fact that Lori begins spotting warnings in her environment, much like Clear did at the end of the original film. Where the death scenes are concerned, they are superior to the previous flicks, not only because of the 3D effect created so you are involved within the scene, but because they are quite odd. From being blown up by a tow truck, killed by a flying rock, crushed in an escalator, hit by an ambulance or simply flattened by falling debris, they are simple and realistic ways of being killed; this makes the shots even more scary. In terms of the 3D experience, this film is as exciting as My Bloody Valentine in the ways in which the death scenes are elevated from the screen, pull you in and make you jump out of your seat on numerous occasions.
The Final Destination is an exciting, enthralling and very engaging conclusion to the franchise.

Peter Beste‘s “True Norwegian Black Metal” photo series is to open in London.
The infamous series, which caught some of the pioneers and most well known faces in Black Metal, will be showing at Chapter One in London from December 3rd to January 10th. Crossfire’s mate French will have his illustration up there as well.
Grizzly Bear are set for a one-off London show for next year.
The band, who release an expanded version of their album Veckatimest on November 2, will play The Roundhouse March 13 next year. Tickets for the show go on sale on October 16th.
Tragically Hip are playing some UK dates at the end of the year.
The band will support their album We Are The Same, released on November 17th, on the following dates:
