The White Stripes are going to court to face the man who produced their first two albums. Jim Diamond, based in Detroit, is claiming he is partly responsible for creating the band’s sound and though they had no contract, he said the band understood how important his role was.
The band’s lawyer has said they will fight the “meritless case” and deny Diamond had anything to do with their sound, saying that the $35 an hour he was paid in the studio is all he’s owed. The trial begins on June 12th.
