Deserted Heygate Estate open for a sesh

The infamous Heygate Estate was built in the 1970’s and has been a part of inner city London skyline ever since. When built, it was considered an ideal urban dwelling but it soon had problems with gangs and for many skaters the brick bank spots weren’t worth the hassle.

Right now, residents of the estate have been evicted. So until the demolition is completed in just under a year’s time, it is ours to be shared with graffiti writers along with the inevitable squatters and street drinkers.

The estate is huge and packed full of a variety of brick branks, with rails and hips too. Be warned, the spots are sketchy and you will hang up on plenty of stray stones and twigs. If you go at the right time though, the estate is deserted and skating round it is a pretty enchanting experience.

Fabric Marcus Beanie

Fabric_beanie_blackKnowing the quality of an average British summer all too well, the people over at Fabric have produced their first ever range of beanies. For those of you who haven’t yet encountered Fabric yet, they are a new UK based board company hailing from the North East. Launched only a few months back in May, they are fast becoming a big part of the UK scene. They’ve already hooked up Shaun Currie, Jason Lewer, Jamie Errington and Paul Regan, produced a few great web edits and have a promising art direction with a real street feel. What more could you ask for?

Coming back to the beanies, they are sick! Available in 4 colours, the Marcus Beanie comes in black, royal blue, grey and olive. With a store price of £19.99, it might be time to stock up for the winter and hassle your local SOS to hassle Stable Distribution to get a few of these in.

In other related news, Fabric have a re-run of their T-Shirts available this month, so if you found a shop with them out of stock recently, they should have some back in as soon as possible.

Watch video of VANS shop looting in Manchester

If you recognise any of the looters raiding the VANS shop in this riot video then please call the Manchester Police. As you can see, this store was breached in a big way and lost a lot of stock and the shop front itself was damaged quite badly.

Please post the URL of this news page on your facebook and tweet it so that others can shop the looters. Also, do not forget that any bargains that are offered to you in local skateparks will more than likely be stolen, so do not fuel the looters needs by buying it cut price.
